You're In Safe Hands

None of us like to read alarming headlines, least of all about our favourite beauty treatments. I have come across a few articles that could be misleading and I’d like you to have the facts at your fingertips so that you can relax and enjoy the treatments that you have with us.

  • Gel Manicures – some companies use a UV lamp to set their gel nails and there have been some suggestions that these can increase your risk of developing age spots and even skin cancer. We only ever use specialist LED lights during our gel manicures and pedicures which pose none of the risks that you may have read about.
  • Waxing – if the wooden spatula that a therapist is using to wax a bikini area, nostrils or underarms is dipped back into the wax pot after it has touched their client’s body then any bacteria (such as MRSA) that the client may be carrying may be transferred to the next client to be waxed. All our therapists have the very highest hygiene standards and never return a spatula to the wax pot when waxing these key areasSpatulas are used once and then disposed of.
  • Parabens – there has been much in the press about the possible dangers of parabens and whether or not they may be linked to cancer. If you are concerned about this, then you can rest assured that Aromatherapy Associates products are paraben free. They are also free from GM ingredients, sodium lauryl sulphate, petrolatum, perfume and any ingredients that have been tested on animals.
  • Jessica colours - are formaldehyde, toluene and DBP free and so are as gentle as they can possibly be to your nails.

I hope these facts leave you confident that looking after your health and wellbeing in the widest possible sense is important to us at Georgina Beauty Rooms. Our therapists are always happy to answer any questions you might have about our products, our treatments or our techniques.
